Definition
SCOP is the average efficiency of a heat pump over a whole heating season, calculated under EN 14825 from part-load tests at several outdoor temperatures and including defrost and standby consumption. It is stated for a climate zone (average, warmer or colder) and for a flow temperature of 35 °C or 55 °C. SCOP is the basis of the EU energy label and a better predictor of running costs than a single COP.
